    Abstract:

    Inverted pendulum system is a complicated and absolutely unstable nonlinear system. This paper provides a dynamic model of it, and gives the control methods based on the State-feedback and Variable Structure Control (VSC) respectively; the comparison based on digital simulation shows that the Variable Structure Control is more effective and robust.
