A method of UWB radar target recognition based on eliminating impulse response is put forward. The process of target poles extraction can be skipped when this method is used in target recognition. This target recognition method is deduced theoretically in detail, the rule of selecting narrow pulse is presented. Finally, the mathematical models of approximate impulsive response about two aircraft in different pose are obtained via computer simulating. Based on these models, two aircraft models are recognized. Simulation results show that this UWB radar target recognition method is effective.
