This thesis reviews the historical background of the technology of Trellis-Coded Modulation, explains the theory and principle of TCM, puts forward the example of Multi-dimension TCM System which is named ABB128 TCM ，briefly relates the theory of “Pragmatic TCM”and discusses the trend of the development of TCM.
