In this paper ,the characteristics of broadband CDMA are mtroduced. The capac1ty of a cellular broadband CDMA system overlaying a GSM system 1S analyzed. At last the numerical result shows that a broadband CDMA sharing the same frequency band with GSM has the potential of increas11lg the total system capaclty enormously.
