Poly-N-isopropylacrylamide(PNIPAM) and poly ( N-isopropylacrylamide-co-methacrylic acid ) ( P (NIPAM-co-MAA) ) micro-gels are prepared by using the inverse suspension polymerization method. PNIPAM/CuS and P(NIPAM-co-MAA)/CuS organic-inorganic composite micro-spheres with patterned surface structures are prepared by taking these two kinds of micro-gels as templates. The results show that the surface morphologies of the composite micro-spheres depend not only on the nature of the micro-gel templates, but also on the relative contents of the metal sulfide precipitated in the composites. This method provides a new way to prepare organic-inorganic composite micro-spheres with complex and regular surface structures.
