The problem that the testing sample capacity is small, and the testing intervals are not equal arises frequently in the project practice. In response to this kind of problems, a method of data processing of small-sample time series based on insert-data is put forward. Modeling ARMA (n, m) of delay-time of some type of starter combustor is made based on this method. A forecasting is carried out and a good result is obtained.
