It is necessary for the development of geography information system to put it into net and make it more open , and the import of the structure of distribution and the idea of facing on the object is the inevitable trend of its development. This paper expounds the concept of distributed - object - WebGIS and the design idea, explores its structure of realization , and carries out a research on some important questions stich as GIS inserts , intelligentize corrsumer terminal , three - level clien/server and so on. It also discusses some important techniques which must be used on the net.
